Measures on board our yachts
In these times, the safest and most comfortable holiday you can have with your family or close friends is aboard a yacht, and we began preparing early to "set sail under Covid-19 conditions". Since a sterile, properly equipped sailing yacht is an almost risk-free option for a holiday at sea, we have developed a concept for what "living with Covid-19" should look like on a yacht charter.
- We have equipped our yachts to be self-sufficient, so that our guests enjoy the greatest possible independence.
- Our crew has been briefed and trained on Covid-19 by a specialist.
- Guests who arrive without a mask are provided with one. Temperature is measured on boarding.
- Warning signs have been placed at various points on board, and hand sanitiser dispensers have been installed where they are easy to reach.
- General cleaning is carried out with water and detergent.
- Windows in cabins and other enclosed areas are kept open and cleaned twice a day.
- Frequently touched surfaces — door handles, switches, handrails, buttons and chrome fittings — are cleaned twice a day.
- After cleaning with water and detergent, bleach or chlorine tablets are used in the appropriate dose.
- Shared items such as glasses and plates are washed with water and detergent after every use and kept in a clean place until they are used again.
- Textiles such as duvet covers, sheets and towels are folded and delivered in hygienic bags, handled so that no dust or particles are released (no shaking or beating).
- Sheets and towels are machine-washed with detergent at 60–90 °C.
- On air-conditioned yachts, the units in the cabins are serviced and maintained regularly in line with the manufacturer's instructions.
- The crew follows hygiene rules: the cook wears an apron, food is kept in bags, washed with plenty of water and stored in sealed bags.
- Galley equipment is of good quality; tablecloths are washed after every service, and napkin holders and salt cellars are disinfected.
- Cabins and toilets are cleaned daily with hygienic liquids.
- Anyone who handles guests' personal belongings or carries their luggage washes their hands immediately afterwards or uses an alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
PROVISIONS
Guests who have chartered with us before know that we are glad to do your shopping, supply your provisions at reasonable prices and stow what is needed in the fridge. From now on, if our guests wish, we can remove unnecessary packaging and disinfect the provisions as far as possible before placing them on board. We also handle the pre-order and delivery of protective items such as disposable gloves, masks and sanitisers, and we have expanded our provisions list to suit the new situation. So that our guests can keep their distance during the holiday, we have contacted a number of suppliers in the bays; all of them have adapted to the new circumstances and can bring food and drink directly to the boat on request.
Our technical support line is open seven days a week, around the clock, for medical questions and emergencies. Thanks to our extensive local knowledge and contacts, we can organise the nearest assistance very quickly when needed, or arrange the most suitable transport by land, air or sea.
These measures are, of course, not a way out of the pandemic. But they help us all "learn to live with the virus" and help you enjoy a smooth, relaxed and pleasant voyage along these beautiful shores with your family or close friends. We follow developments closely, review and adjust our measures when necessary, and adapt what we learn to what is needed. Our first priority has always been to protect health and well-being, and we believe these measures serve that purpose.

- Spending time on a yacht in a safe environment is more advantageous than any other holiday option.
- A charter keeps guests in smaller, spotless surroundings such as a gulet or a sailing yacht, and minimises the need for large hotels and public spaces where risk naturally increases.
- It offers a genuinely isolated holiday.
- Because it is private, you come face to face with far fewer staff than on other holidays.
- The sea, iodine and open air are not an environment the virus favours.
- Throughout the holiday you are in contact with only a small, fixed number of crew.
